Weapon of Choice

I love music but for a little while I was in a bit of a musical funk. I've was feeling confined by scales and chords and like I had nothing creative to say musically. But that was then and now, now music is just everywhere. So I've been working on this new song. Just music, a bass and guitar line. I like it. It sounds good so far, or at least I like it. The best part is I just played it. I didn't worry about notes or any of that junk, just got the idea in my head and made it happen. I don't know how words will work with it, or what words but they'll come I'm sure.
Music gets me in trouble too. I got in trouble Sunday. I was figuring out what key hyms were in instead of singing them and Elsa didn't appreciate it too much. I won't do it again. And then the other day I was listening to a drum beat and it was a weird beat and before I knew it I was figuring out the time signature and when all the snare beats were. It was in 4/4. Straight eighth notes on the high-hat and then snare hits on the 2, 3 & and off-beat of 4. And for those of you who that makes no sense, it was like: tsh, tsh, coom, tsh, coom, tsh, tsh coom. Yup that's exactly how it is. Yeah. I'm out.

It's pretty awesome to think music and then actually make it the way you think it without working on it. That's only happened to me a few times. So have I heard this dripping yellow madness or is this even newer than that?
